Be true to yourself

sometimes in this crazy busy life we get caught up in things which can be so easy to do.  staying grounded can be hard….  sometimes we can be influenced by other artist and in that we compromise who we are as an artist.  there are so many talented artist out there, so be true to yourself or you won't know what talents you have.

What better way to spend a day off from work and do ART!  It's been a while since my last painting so it felt real good to get my fingers in the paint. I love using my fingers to paint with….

BIRTHDAYS have come and gone…..

This is Jadyn she has now turned 2.  Her theme was Alice in Wonderland which totally suited her personality. She was told to do something as she exclaimed NO, NO, NO and ran off to the back garden area. That's so Alice I thought! Too much personality and I love her so much.

This is our  Aubrie the little princess. She is now 1, and cute as can be. She can dance and is the cutest thing to watch. I love how she gives me kisses and when her mommy ask her do you love grandma,  she yells YEAHHHHH!!! Love my Aubrie so much!  This was a big day for our princess.

This is Madden one of the kindest good hearted little boys, always a smile on his face. He has the most beautiful blue eyes. I think he's going to be one of those gentle giants, as my son is 6'4". I love this little guy and his sweet little heart.  He too is now 1!!!!

This is Jacob the last of the 4……such a cutie.  He looks a little mischievous in this picture, but I love his sweet little face. Definitely a lot of personality too!! He has also turned 1 this year.  As you can see I've been busy with 4 grand babies all having their birthdays…May, June, July  & August. BUT it's been fun and I'm so grateful. Thank Lord for all my blessings :)

Ok so I've been a bad, let's say very BAD blogger…….. Life has been very full! I know that's no excuse for not blogging! But just to keep you up to date I now have 4 grand babies all turning 1 this year except the oldest who just turned 2 in May. That would be Jadyn. Then we have Aubrie who just turned 1 in June with her birthday party this week. Madden will be 1 in July and Jacob 1 in August.  So I guess you could say I have been very busy……and I'm loving it! Some how I am managing to get some Art done. I have even joined Art Abandonment that has just taken off like crazy. Still need to abandon a piece, hopefully soon. Life has been good and God has totally blessed me. Well for now that's it…..off to paint. :)

Beads on a Wire

Yeah! It's a New Year with new beginnings. I love when the old year rolls out and in with the NEW! It feels like a fresh new beginning and that's what it is. I think that's why I like collecting and making cross because that's what they represent, new beginnings with new hope. Happy creating & Happy New Year to ALL! Be Healthy and Happy. Create, create, create lots of ART because we all know ART is healing to the mind, body and soul.

Still loving this metal stuff

I don't think I could ever get tired of using copper. I love the way it looks after being fired with a torch. My friend Donna Gunn at donnagunn.blogspot.com has taught the bracelet class using the copper metal. I loved the way it looked and thought it would make a great cover for a Journal Book. We get together about one day a month for our fix "Art Day" and this is what I made. Of course I had to make a bracelet too. I love copper not just for the way it looks, but it's also a healing metal. I find that when my Carpal tunnel flares up I just put on my bracelet and the pain goes away. Try one and see. Maybe it's just me, but if the pain goes away I'm gonna wear it.

Journal

My latest Journal Book……didn't last long already gone! But I did get a great deal for it. I love when I can barter, and that's what I did with my first fabric journal book. I used a lot of vintage fabric and the heart…. I cut up silk, crush velvet, ribbon and glued it on to some stiff fabric. I used a vintage button and an old key to lock and hold all your secrets in. For the binding I used delicate sheer lace.
